to less than $15.00 per barrel. At that time the drilling
across all of Texas virtually stopped. Neither Texas nor these fields
were out of locations to drill. The oil companies just stopped drilling.
In addition to the producing wells on this lease American Energy
Production has chosen this lease as a test location for a new
generation oil recovery system known as the Otis Pump.
One of the older wells on the lease was selected to
monitor the recovery system's capabilities
and efficiencies.
The Kirk Field Marble Falls Project is made up of several leases totaling 3,000 acres.
It is Southwest of Desdemona, Texas, Northeast of Gorman, Texas and lies in both Comanche
County and Eastland County.
The formations that lay under the leases are the Strawn, Caddo, Marble Falls Upper and Lower, Duffer, Barnett Shale and the Ellenberger. The original drilling in the area began as early and the 1920's. The area was actively drilled up until the 1980's when the price of oil
